Valentine's Day

A few hours ago, we went to the local (somewhat) movie theater and saw the movie "Valentine's Day."

Note: It is rather depressing to glance around the theater and see an overwhleming sea of couples literally taking each other's breath away. Ew. Just punch me and get it over with; it would be less painful.

Now onto to the movie...

This movie could easily be described as a Chick Flick. However, we believe that any guy would enjoy it; although, we do not presume to speak for the male race for we do not possess the proper appendages. Sorry.

First things first... AWESOME CAST!!! Actually our main reason for seeing "Valentine's Day" is because we foudn out that Shirley MacLaine was in it. (we have a seriously worrysome obsession with her) If you want to know who else is in it... I'm lazy, go to imdb.com, too many names to remember.

The first ten minutes of the movie are very hectic and scattered. You are introduced to so many different characters it's kinda hard to keep up. But it works out later.

The movie is centered around the relationships of various couples and their intertwining lives. It was very interesting to see how they involved everyone through degrees of seperation. Well done Garry Marshall, well done indeed.

Speaking of the director Garry Marshall, you could play a drinking game of 'Spot the Marshall' in which you take a drink everytime you see Garry or one of his relatives (wife, daughter, granddaughter, son, etc.) onscreen. That alone is entertaining.

Megan: Halfway through the movie, I found myself wanting to know who Julia Roberts' character was connected to.
Tiffany: *sighs* It was obvious!!! Seriously, I knew she just had to be the little boy'd mom. The hints were practically hurled at your head!

We agree to disagree.

Megan: I was also curious to know the next accent Anne Hathaway was going to use in her "adult phone entertainer" adventure.
Tiffany: YES!!! Personally, I loved the russian accent the most. Twas just too funny.

GRANDMA SLUT ALERT!!!!!

That's right, it turns out that Shirley MacLaine's character cheated on her husband (Hector Elizondo). Oh noes!

Tiffany: When I saw that I wanted to throw things at the screen cuz I thought they had ruined my favorite couple in the movie.
Megan: I just thought it was quite funny that they would write Shirley Maclaine as a slut.
Tiffany: She clearly hasn't seen many of Shirley MacLaine's earlier movies. :D

Saddest Part-
Megan: When Julia Roberts' character came home and hugged her little boy after eleven months of not seeing him. (she's a captain in the army)
Tiffany: When Shirley was explaining to Hector that she had cheated on him with his business partner years ago. She had tears pooling in her eyes, and his face was heartbreaking. Estelle: I wanted you to know the truth. Edgar: That truth makes everything else feel like a lie. *sobs*

Most Shocking-
The reveal that the characters played by Eric Dane and Bradley Cooper were in a gay relationship with each other.
Megan: My reaction was, 'Don't kiss him, don't kiss him!'
Tiffany: 'Shut up, shut up, shut up!' I wanted them to kiss. I was so excited!
(note: we actually said those things in the theater)

Funniest-
Queen Latifah+ruler+Vladimir=Epic Hilariousness!
(you have to see it to understand why this is funny, but it's so worth it)

Favorite Moment-
Megan: My favorite scene is when Jennifer Gardner's character confronts her boyfriend after she finds out he is married. She pretends to be a waitress and explains what the daily special is to the wife. She goes on about who the chef prepares it, saying he cuts off the pig's testicles, finely chops them, pulverizes them with oregano and a hint of fetta cheese, and finally stuffs it back up its ass. As she leaves she takes her final revenge by charging lobster and cheesecake to his bill, courtesy of another waitor.
Tiffany: My favorite part (cuz I'm biased and obsessive)is when Estelle (Shirley) and Edgar (Hector) reunite in the hollywood cemetary where they are showing one of Estelle's old movies. They run to each other and embrace, while practically the same scene is being played out behind them on the screen. Later they danced in the moonlight. Made of win!

Worth Watching: Yes.

To Whom It May Concern...

Prepare yourself.

You are entering a zone of crazy. Ready?

Here we go....

Hello to anyone who is reading this! This blog's purpose is to give curious minds our thoughts and reviews of movies that we have seen. Who are we? We are two female roommates in college, and we are movie fanatics. We have an unhealthy obsession with movies and with the actors/actresses in them. In fact, the reason we watching over half of the movies we've seen is because of certain people who are in them. Crazy? Weird? Obsessive? Yes.

Wanna know us better? Allow us to introduce ourselves...

Tiffany:
Greetings! I'm Tiffany and I am a movieholic. Oh, and I make up words. I am a Professional Writing major and Theatre minor in college. I quite frequently go on rants, it's quite fun. I have a tendency towards having random obsessions that are best left unsaid. If you really wanna know, feel free to ask. I might answer, I might not. Enjoy the anticipation.

Megan:
Hi, I'm Megan. I have developed a codependency to Tiffany's movieholicism. I am an Accounting major. Writing is like a brick wall to me, although I've had a few less injuries since Tiffany moved in. Even that sentence didn't make any sense to me. Logic is my friend. If you have any questions, ask away. I'll try my best to answer.

Note: If you have any movie recommendations, please leave them in a comment.
